I’m been meaning to share this one for a long time, and for whatever reason I forget :/
But thankfully, a handful of people out there DON’T forget =)
This patch was made soon after the release of Max 8 using the new feature that was included MC. It’s not that you couldn’t make this before MC, but MC certainly means a lot less objects to get to this type of sudo granular effect. There’s two magical parts to this patch that need to be studied – jit.mo modulating jit.bfg which provides the moving noise.voronoi that is being written into jit.buffer this provides a moving window used to read back that sound from buffer~
The voronoi pattern being written into the buffer is providing the “variable window” which we’re using to read back sound from the audio buffer using groove~ – but before the read back from groove~ we’re using the triangle~ and mc.gen~ to duplicate the triangle~ x50 and read-back from the variable jit.buffer aka the voronoi that is continually changing, this is how we get the granular/slur effect.
