rte drm 2020

For anyone who’s been around a minute, my “rate drum” concept is far from new, in-fact using phasor~ and rate~ for audio-rate triggering dates back decades now.

But my idea to use it more “algorithmically” for percussive/beat generation really came with introduction of MC, and more the subsequent deviation options that allow you to uniquely set individual channels inside the mc wrapper using harmonic deviation.

I’ve since pushed this concept a lot further, but I wanted to share this 2020 “sketch” largely because I think it shows off the algorithmic capabilities nicely without being overly complex. There’s no polyphony, but I did add a couple of Max 9 goodies to spice it up a little, 99% as it was in 2020.

Have fun, hmu with any questions, use it at will and tag me if you make something cool with it.
